Submitting my life and desires to the Lord has been
a journey worth traveling. I have finished 2
years of bible school in Canada, completed my
commitment in Africa, and enjoyed time at home
with my family. Now, I’m preparing to go
to Romania: I will arrive June 2004 and remain
there until the end of October, 2004.
Romania has been mainly a communist country, where
doors are opening for the gospel to impact lives!
I will be joining a ministry that has been laboring
there for many years. Their hearts are geared towards
evangelism and discipleship. They have seen their
persistent efforts penetrate the hearts of the resistant,
and like most endeavors they are in need of workers.
There are many different areas that I can help in;
some are, working with orphanages and ministering
to kids, teaching the youth and training them to
reach out to the lost, together with dramas and skits.
Ultimately, I will be doing what I love by serving
and obeying God.
For those who recall the stories and experiences
from serving in Africa understand the effect it has
had on me. It has made an enormous and irreversible
dent in me! The mission increased my faith, showed
me God’s grace and pointed me in the only direction
worthy of venturing. A direction committed to testifying,
by all means, the saving grace of our Lord Jesus.
Remembering the statement I made in my last newsletter
when in Africa, I stated the "mission ruined
me," well, not entirely. I was "ruined" the
moment I fell in love with Jesus and ever since I
can’t seem to follow my own beaten path. Instead,
the domineering pursuit has been relentlessly the
Lord’s course. I can’t settle for less.
I just can’t shake it and truthfully I wouldn’t
want to. I am grateful and the inner pursuit must
be the Lord’s doing.
Serving the Lord is exciting, and I’m anticipating
great things from God. I would like you to come with
me; through my letters, in your prayers, and with
your heart.
Love and Blessings,
Shannon D. Casey
